A Great Way to Keep Baby Safe in the Sun

June 11, 2008

Sun Stop'r Kwik Cabana w/ Shade
I am constantly trying to find ways to protect my kids from the sun whenever we are outside. Besides slathering them up with sunblock everytime we step foot out the door, I thought this Sun Stop’r Kwik Cabana w/ Shade
was another neat way to keep the baby safe from the sun while we are enjoying the outdoors. I owned something similiar to this when my oldest was a baby but thought this one was cool because it is made from a UV protective fabric that is suppose to be equivalent to a 50+ UPF protection. The cabana has some other neat features too including a pop up mechanism that makes setting it up and taking it down easy and a bag for carrying it and storage. The Sun Stop’r Kwik Cabana w/ Shade sells for $59.95

Baby Art 3D Print Deluxe Natural
Considering buying a baby keepsake footprint kit? I am really big into creating memories of my children. I have plaster sculptures of their baby hands and feet displayed on my dresser. It is amazing how quickly they grow and I am glad that my husband and I took the time to do it because it is now hard to believe that they were once that tiny. Anyway, here is a neat alternative to displaying them on the dresser. This

Looking for the Best Cloth Diapers? bumGenius are Affordable and Easy to Use

June 4, 2008

Cloth Baby DiapersFinding the best cloth diapers can be a task but the bumGenius 3.0 Cloth Diaper seems to fit the bill. These cool cloth diapers have a lot going for them. Obviously cloth diapers are the best option if you are hoping to go green when diapering but many people are put off by the work and expense of cloth diapering. The bumGenius helps solve both these problems.

First, they are designed to grow with your baby so you don’t have to keep buying a new batch of diapers every time your baby outgrows a size. They are designed to fit babies from 7 lbs. up to 35 lbs. Also, they are less work to use than traditional cloth diapers since they don’t require special folding and they are designed with stretchy tabs which eliminates the need for diaper pins.

Finally, at just $17.95 a piece, they actually work out to be a very affordable cloth diapers option. My son goes through about 8 diapers a day (he’s nine months old) so if you were to buy 24 diapers (a three day supply) it would cost you around $430. On the flip side, buying disposable diapers can run around $700-$900 a year depending on the brand. Multiply that by two or three years and that really adds up. Of course you do have to factor in the cost of laundry detergent, water, and electricity for washing the diapers but you still come out ahead. And don’t forget that cloth diapers can be used again if you plan to have more babies.

The bumGenius 3.0 cloth diapers come in several color options. You can find out more about them here.
